Past Co-op Village, we reach a very narrow strip of parkland at the very edge of Manhattan.  Just beside it, is the Gigeresque expanse of the Williamsburg Bridge; and across the water is Williamsburg, Brooklyn – home to yuppies, expatriates and those individualistic, bohemian creative types commonly known in the city as “Hipsters.

Williamsburg was also where I lived during the short year and a bit I called New York City home in 2011-2012.  And in fact, my very apartment building sat just across the water from where I stood, pensively admiring the view.

This tour of Grand Street, and the entire Manhattan in 12 Streets project, thus ends for me, on this personal note: contemplating HOME.  Something that came as a delightful surprise.

THIS IS THE END OF MANHATTAN IN 12 STREETS.
